Note* anytime I do stock photos. I intentionally do minimal make up. Just enough to inspire digital artist. His cuts are drawn on with makep only. We were living on an army base in Germany at the time and I had no access to latex or prosthetics. I did the best I could with what I had available.
I realize that not everyone will like or appreciate my work and everyone is entitled your opinion. I greatly appreciate all the artiste who have supported me and used my stock!

Nothing is "worthy" of a DD, because it's not an award. But if you don't like what's being featured, I encourage you to suggest pieces you do want to see featured, rather than complaining to the artist, who had nothing to do with their work being selected.

And I doubt the artist cares what you think if it gets a DD, they didn't feature it so why comment here

It's sort of unfair that art like this [link] doesn't get a dd, but this does. I mean this isn't bad, but I've seen better, waaaay better

Well....The piece you linked to is a traditional art piece, which is covered by a completely different volunteer. So sort of...apples and oranges, you know? If you want to see that traditional art piece featured, suggest it to one of the traditional art community volunteers, instead of complaining that a piece of stock shouldn't have been featured.

Very cool, although it seems like it was rather easy to make (tear your shirt put on a bit of makeup done), and it also seems kinda cliche for a zombie, but this is still good!

Ugh, people really need to stop complaining about a DD!! I remember the crap people said over your last Halloween inspired DD, the mummy stock.

This is actually a great stock image for those who have a bit of imagination, creativity, talent, or software knowledge.

This is good but I'd say it's not worth a DD. No offence to the creator. It's just.. You've added some makeup to the face, some cuts that look like stickers and the shirt was cut with scissors and splosched with some water-colours. To be honest it's something I'd expect from a High-School Film project. I realize this is a stock image but still not worthy of a DD in my opinion, again no offence to the owner whatsoever.

There truly is nothing "worthy" of a DD, as it is not an award, or reward. It is something that the community volunteer wanted to feature for a day. I also highly encourage you to leave constructive criticism, rather than complaining it's not "worthy." Ok - you don't like the make up...What could they have done to make it better?

And please remember in the future that the artist had zero say in their work being featured, and complaining on their work that it shouldn't have been is rude, and offensive, even if you tack on a "no offense."

Yeah, that's what I thought while looking at it too. But it is stock, and it's probably good that they left the make-up blanker, so the people who use it can add the effects sufficient for their picture.

if you dont want to offend the artist, how about you say it to the one who FEATURED IT?! honestly, the artist has no say in what gets the dd in their gallery,if you have an issue, bring it up to the person that is responsible for it.

I took that into account before I posted. First off, bringing it up with the person who featured it typically affects nothing. Secondly, I was pointing out things the artist could improve upon, which is known as constructive criticism. I know it's not up to the artist if it gets featured or not, but if you look at this from a point of view where this isn't a DD, and that it's actually just me commenting on a picture I saw on the "New" section, then I'm only giving my opinion, not intending to offend anyone.

This isn't about critiquing someones work, this is about the photo's worth of a DD. Saying to the artist that it is not DD worthy is still hurtful. It might look simple, it might look like there was not much work put into it, however, we the viewers simply don't know that. What could take one person an hour to complete, it could take another person a day.

Ok you took it into account, but obviously that did nothing--you still talked about it. And talking to the one responsible doesn't do anything typically!? What exactly do you want them to do; revoke the DD? That is tantamount to getting an award for your hardwork, someone not agreeing with the choice and telling the person to take it away, so yeah, highly doubtful unless it is really necessary (e.g. stolen art gets recognition). The effect would be making a smarter choice next time. Imagine getting a trophy for, well whatever, and someone comes up to you and says "No offense, but I don't think you deserved that trophy" it feels like a punch in the face--its rude, whether you meant it to or not.

Yes you make a great point and I respect your opinion. And again, in no way shape or form do I intend to offend anyone, but I have my opinion and you have yours and I doubt that arguing any further is going to change that.
